Of all the gifts my two year old has received for Hanukkah this year, the YBIKE is easily my favorite. I have long been a fan of balance bikes for tots and this one is the easiest to use that I’ve seen thus far. Read on for a chance to win one for your child this holiday season!

In a season where so many popular gifts are battery powered electronics that encourage stationary play, the YBIKE is literally the breath of fresh air we were looking for. It’s bringing balance into my son’s life in another way as well. He just loves it. Bonus is that it will likely make it easier for him to transition to a two wheeler eventually. The bike itself is tough and sturdy and easier for a young child to use than any other balance bike I’ve previously tested. In just two sessions, my son was able to figure out how to roll and balance on his own. From the YBIKE Site:

Enjoy the freedom of the outdoors and the joys of cycling from as early as 1.5 years old. The YBIKE will help your child develop an early sense of balance and control, along with independence, self-confidence and happiness!

Kids who tested the bike for 20-30 minutes twice a week showed the following improvements:

  • Substantial improvements in both static and dynamic balance
  • Substantial improvements in bilateral coordination

Disclaimer: Ybike provided a bike to our family for review purposes.

It is called the Fundamental Skills Program and is a structured, safe, educational YBIKE lesson plan that lasts about 2 to 4 weeks. It is for pre-schools, day care centers, Montessori’s and other accredited child care centers.

it is FREE program that we offer to pre-schools, day care centers, Montessori’s and other accredited child care centers. A complete lesson plan is provided on how to use and incorporate the YBike in a preschool setting. Children are tested on basic balance and motor skill development prior to using the YBIKE. Teachers then follow a fun but structured, safe, educational YBIKE lesson plan for 2 to 4 weeks. At the end of this period children are tested once again on these basic balance and motor skills development. On average each child improves anywhere from 50 to 100% at these basic skills.

The YBikes School Program is a free dealio that the company offers to preschools, daycare centers, etc. that provides these places with instruction of how to incorporate the YBike into playtime. YBike also enables testing before and after the introduction of the YBike to measure improvement in motor skills and balance.

    Coolio!

First off, yes, my son would love to have a ybike to play on. He gets so bored with non-active toys. I’d love to let him go wild while learning a new skill. Thanks for the giveaway.
