Thanks to AT&T Go Phone for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

AT&T Go PhoneThere’s never enough phones when you have a family of 6 on a road trip.

Someone’s got their music streaming through an aux cord. Someone else has a movie playing in the far back seat. The teenagers are snapchatting their way to the state line, sending updates to all their friends, while you (in the passenger seat) check the latest on Facebook.  Suddenly, you realize you are lost so you use the driver’s phone as a nav tool to google your way back to the right route.

It’s at that precise moment your 6 yr whimpers. He’s bored. He wants your phone to play with an app. He can’t use the tablet. The game is online!

Welcome to the wired family road trip. How did we get anywhere or do anything when we were kids?

AT&T GoPhones offer the perfect solution to those times when you need more phones but you do not want the commitment of an added line.

This season AT&T introduced the new $45 monthly smartphone rate plan, including:

  •  Nationwide unlimited talk, text and data — with 1GB of data at 4G/LTE high-speed
  • Add an additional 500MB of high-speed data to this package for $10.*

*Data usage exceeding the high-speed allowance will result in reduced data speed of up to 128 Kbps for the rest of your 30-day term. Actual speeds vary by device and location.

There’s one more reason we love having GoPhones when we travel for peace of mind and peace of ride.  This fall when we were traveling, in the shuttle  on the way to the flight my son was playing with his dad’s cell phone, which is in a cell phone wallet. We got to the airport and everyone jumped out and grabbed their luggage. We got to the ticket counter and BAM. The pocket patting and panicking set in. Where was the phone!? Where was the wallet!? Still in the shuttle.

Lucky for us the driver was able to be reached and he turned around.

Lesson learned for us. When we go, we go with a GoPhone for the kids. You can’t have too many phones and you don’t want to leave your wallet on the shuttle!

Through  February 28, 2015, AT&T offers savings on smartphones:

  • Receive $30 off GoPhone smartphones over $99
  • Receive $10 off GoPhone smartphones under $99
