Decorating a kid’s room is harder than you think. Between the ages of 2 and 13 their tastes change so much. One day they love Paw Patrol, the next Dinosaurs and before you know it they are obsessed with space.

If there is one thing I have learned as a mom of 4, it’s that whatever you spend the most money on, and put the most effort into, is likely to be the first thing your kids decide they can’t stand. I started out with heirloom pieces but after a tearful incident (mine, not theirs) parting with an antique wrought iron bunny bed from France, I’m a fan of inexpensive decor. Inexpensive doesn’t have to be cheap looking however!
Have you seen the variety of wall murals out there? I wish I’d seen them before painstakingly painting clouds on my daughters ceilings, that lasted all of one year before they grew sick of them.
Wall murals typically cost less than it would to paint the room and they are easily and quickly put on and then removed when you are done!
Here are some I know my kiddos would love.
- Space Ceiling
- Fantasy Forest
- Deep Forest Stream
- Pirate Ship
- Diagon Alley
- Aladdins Flight
- Disney Castle
- Fairy Pond
- Green Secret Garden
- Fantasy Unicorn
- Jurassic World
- Morning In The Forest
- Tiana Tugboat
- Cinderella’s Castle
- Peter Pans Flight
- Tangled Magical Evening
- Disney Fairy Castle
- Hogwarts Castle
- Unicorn Fantasy
- Dragon Creature
- Pink Forest Fantasy

Pro Tip: You can also dress up dresser fronts and the sides of drawers with leftover mural pieces!
