We’ve been crafting for over a decade in our present home and our paint “stash” has gotten out of hand. Too many paint cans stored away in the side yard. Time to get rid of them! Before we do, however, I’m trying to think up a few little projects to use up what we can.
So I’ve been grabbing paint sticks every time I go to Home Depot. Which has been about four times a week with the planting, gardening and home repairs I’ve been up to lately.
I grabbed 20 paint sticks in all. And we went to work.
My kids love to paint. ESPECIALLY with the mommy paint. The kind that is normally not for them. I like to point out which color came from the guest room, my son’s old crib, my daughter’s old tea party table.
This craft could not be easier. You lay down a tarp. You wear crummy clothes. You paint the sticks. When they are dry, you write on the plant names with a good ‘ol sharpie and push your colorful markers into the earth. Enjoy all summer and beyond.
We ran out of sticks and did a few rocks as well. They work well for marking seed rows and herbs.
This will wash off… eventually.
