Crazy Reptile Egg Trix Treats

We were torn what to call these. Snake Cakes? Lizard Egg Patties?  By the time we were through arguing and brainstorming, they were GONE.
These were a big hit at my son’s Reptile Birthday Party.

 

They were super easy. Just follow your fave Rice Krispy Treat recipe and sub in Trix cereal for the Rice Krispies. The recipe I used called for a bag of mini marshmallows, a box of cereal and 2 TBS of butter.

1. I melted the butter and marshmallows in the microwave in a giant bowl. Go slow – 30 sec at a time and stir.  Then I mixed in the cereal.
2. Turn the sticky cereal mass out onto a large cookie sheet lined with greased wax paper. Use a second piece of greased wax paper to press it flat
3. Chill in the refrigerator and then use a greased cookie cutter to cut out shapes or slice with a (yep, greased!) knife.
4. Guard them, these Trix Treats go fast!
