Thank you Villa De Palmar for hosting Travelfluential at your resort. All opinions are my own.
When I told my family and friends that I was going to Loreto in the Baja California Peninsula, no one really knew where that was. I had seen it on a map, but I didn’t know much about it. My adventurous self decided to take on the last minute assignment for Momfluetial. Besides, it was a beach in Mexico!
The two hour and fifteen minute flight out of LAX went by quickly. The airport in Loreto was small and not overcrowded. We were checked in through customs and were quickly routed to our resort. No fuss or stress.
Upon arrival, I was surprised by Loreto’s unique landscape. It was nothing like I had imagined or expected in a beach destination. It was mountainous, dry, and surrounded by succulents. Desert like and volcanic.
The ocean that surrounded it was crystal clear and inviting. A study in contrasts.
The coastline in and around Loreto is one of the richest and most varied in Baja. You will find the towering Sierra La Giganta Mountains, reefs, caverns, bays, oasis, a multitude of islands, coves – all influencing and being influenced by the climate of Loreto.
The Villa Del Palmar resort is located about a half hour from the airport. The staff welcomed us with a unique custom I had seen in Europe. Our hands were washed in a fragrant flor de azahar (orange flower water). The aroma was heavenly.
It was not only a kind gesture, it was a genuine greeting on behalf of the staff. As a traveler who isn’t always treated well on the road I really appreciated this amazing hospitality.
The attentive room attendants at Villa Del Palmar were very thoughtful and arranged seeds and dyed rice forming this beautiful greeting. It was a great way to start my mini getaway
To be continued….
Hi!
Thank you for these posts! My hubby and I are planning on going at the end of August and would love to hear more about your adventures! Any tips we should know before we go? Also, I am going to be 21 weeks pregnant at that time. I am super excited!
