There are three weeks of school left and then we are free! Free to pursue all sorts of summer fun and activities.

I’ve started a list of some of the activities I’d like to do with my kids when school is out. Possibly the instant school is out!

1. Make our own bubble solution and blow some giant bubbles.
2. Make homemade sidewalk chalk paint and paint the sidewalk.
3. Get out the side walk chalk and do self portraits, create an obstacle course,
and of course, play hopscotch.
4. Make sun prints on construction paper.
5. Dig, plant and play in our garden.
6. Drive our bikes through our homemade bike wash.
7. Explore the local tide pools.
8. Jump on our trampoline.
9. Jump Rope (Double Dutch and Chinese).
10. Go for a Nature Walk .

Sometimes I think I live for summer. It’s my favorite time of year. Recently someone
told me that you only get 18 summers with your kids. I plan to make every one of
them count!

For more ideas of what to do with your kiddos this summer, check out the “Kids Love Summer” Pinterest
Board.

I’ve partnered with GoGo squeeZ as part of their “Pass the Play” campaign. GoGo squeeZ believes in the simple mantra of “always play” and is putting this belief to work through the “Pass the Play” campaign with the goal of bringing the simple joy of play to those who need it most across the country

Through “Pass the Play” you can:

  • email community@gogosqueez to request a “Pass the Play” kick ball and play the largest game of catch. 10,000 kick balls are being distributed nationwide, so people can enjoy the simple goodness of play and then pass that play to someone they know that needs some play in their life. Everyone who registers a ball will be entered to winfun prizes by tracking the kick balls at www.PassthePlay.com
  • tweet #passtheplay and $1 will be donated to The Fresh Air Fund with the goal of raising $25,000, which will allow more inner-city boys and girls to participate in programs that can change the course of a child’s life
  • visit GoGo squeeZ at the “Pass the Play” mobile playground, which is visiting 10 cities across the country.

The tour will kick off in Atlanta, Ga. on May 26th during the Decatur Arts Festival. Some of the 10 cities include Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, LA, San Francisco and LA Visit the official campaign site at www.PassthePlay.com
