You probably already know about Toms and how they operate… For every pair of shoes sold, they donate a pair to a child in need. My tween/teen daughters are lobbying to shoe a small village since they seem to want new pairs on a near weekly basis.
But the biggest fan of Toms shoes in the family right now? My 3 year old son.
Toms kindly sent a pair of off white toddler shoes for him to try after the event and I mentioned we could paint the shoes together. He was beside himself with glee and suggestions. Red and green monkeys. Alligators. Dragons. And then he got stuck on rainbows. Oh yes. My boy wanted a pair of rainbow Toms.
There is no room for discussion once a three yr old decides.
Coincidentally, I had out some paint as part of another project (more on this later) this past weekend. So we sat and created some rainbow shoes. We didn’t want them to look TOO girly, since my long locked redheaded son is occasionally mistaken for a little girl, which seems to bother him lately. But we definitely wanted them to be colorful, like him.
Lucky for me that a rainbow is loosely interpreted as stripes. I’m not sure I would have been as successful with the red and green monkeys.
He’s hardly taken them off all week. Every day he thanks me for his rainbow shoes. He picked these pajama pants to wear to match the shoes for the photo below. He nailed the colors, didn’t he?
This was such a easy project. One more reason to love Tom’s.

Those are darling!
VERY stylish!
love ’em! been thinking about getting my toddler some Toms, this might seal the deal for me.
