My family loves Chinese food. We could order it out or we could make it all from scratch (not so appealing in the heat of summer) OR we can buy frozen gyoza, fried rice and orange chicken at Trader Joes and fire up the Philips Airfryer.
I’ll take option C. The Philips Airfryer had this dinner on my table in less than 30 minutes and (important!) with very few cooking vessels to wash.
Thanks to Philips for the opportunity to review an Airfryer. All opinions are my own.
I cooked the fried rice in the microwave while I made the “fried” gyoza in the fryer. They were done, from frozen, in about 7 minutes on high heat. Crispy and delicious!
I covered over the gyoza and rice and set in the oven to keep warm and then proceeded to cook the chicken in the airfryer (10-12 more minutes) while I heated up the sauce in a small pan on the stove.
What I love best about this dinner is that the rice was served in the ceramic crock it was heated in, the chicken and wontons were both cooked with very, very minimal mess in the airfryer and the only pot or pan I had to wash was a tiny little sauce pan. The entire process took less than half an hour.
In the past I would have used at least two frying pans to get this dinner on the table, and it would have taken a great deal longer to heat, and a lot more stirring and close attention. After all that, it would not have been so perfectly, evenly and crisply cooked. There also would have been extra oil involved.
We’re not going back there.
I love having the Airfryer around to make quick dinners like this. Easy is good. Very, very good.

My kid will only eat Panda Express orange chicken and goldfish crackers sometimes and it is INFURIATING to buy a full Panda Express meal that he won’t eat the rice or veggies. It’s so expensive and such a waste! He also loves the crispy walnut shrimp, which is an extra charge. If I can make those same things with an air fryer and Trader Joe’s frozen stuff, then I’ve officially fallen in love with you for the idea and I’m going to buy an air fryer right now!!!
Just so you know… Those aren’t wontons… They’re gyoza (potstickers).
You are correct! Thanks for correcting me.
