Are you a Tim Burton fan?
Even if he’s not your fave, it’s such a treat to visit the haunted mansion between Halloween and New Years when Jack Skellington is in residence. Every year the decorations are slightly different, but always extravagant and ghoulishly artful. If sticky sweet isn’t your holiday decor style, there’s so much you can do with this slightly dark decorating theme. Drawing inspiration from the film and the Haunted Mansion decor, why not create a Nightmare Before Christmas tree?
I’d start with a black tree (I saw this black tree at Michaels this week) and then add these ornaments and then I’d add the lights and ornaments that we spied at the gift shop in New Orleans Square at a recent Disney Holidays event.

Jack Skellington lights to brighten up your black tree…

Gravestone Ornaments & Singing Busts are a must.

Hitchhiking Ghost Ornaments – it wouldn’t be the Haunted Mansion without these spiritual freeloaders.

Plush Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments & macabre Mickey ears would look oh so lovely dangling from black tree boughs.

Of course you’ll need to hang these stockings
on your mantel. Want to go all out? You could try to create these bony wreaths that were on display in the store.

What else would you use to decorate your Jack Skellington tree? Now I feel like I need to make a Nightmare Before Christmas/Hanukkah Menorah for next year! Who’s with me? I’m headed back to the Disneyland park to shop and stock up for next year before all these goodies are gone!
