This post has been sponsored by Invisalign. All opinions are my own, as usual!

Invisalign has had such a positive impact on my life and for my kids that it’s now my first choice for teeth straightening for all my family members.

I’m thrilled to be hosting a giveaway for treatment with Invisalign (below). But first, our story…

Four and a half year ago, my oldest daughter got traditional wire braces. It was a process that she loathed. We went this route because the orthodontist we saw for her advised us that she was not an Invisalign candidate. I was later to learn that this had more to do with the Orthodontist’s training than my daughter’s teeth. I wish I’d known then, .

I became a member of the Invisalign Mom Advisory Board shortly before my second daughter began treatment, and both she and I signed up as patients. My second daughter had a combined treatment, with traditional braces used briefly for a few months to help an emerging tooth come in better, followed by the remainder of her treatment using Invisalign aligners.

Though I myself have never worn traditional braces, I’ve sought and paid for both traditional braces and Invisalign aligners for my kids. There is no question which type of treatment they prefer, and which one I will be seeking out for all future treatments, when possible. Invisalign wins.

Unfortunately for my oldest daughter, her original treatment with braces was not only unpleasant, but would prove to be in vain when her retainer broke and her wisdom teeth came in. Within a month of not wearing the retainer, her once straight teeth were looking crowded again. She was frustrated.

Worried, I rushed her in for an evaluation and found my worst fears (and hers) were confirmed. She would need braces a second time, albeit a shorter duration. This time I didn’t hesitate before bringing her in to the Invisalign specialist. As much as I hated to have to pay for a second round of treatment, I felt good knowing that this time we are in the great hands of a highly trained specialist. My daughter, now a senior in high school, is extremely relieved not to be enduring a second awkward phase with a mouth full of metal. I’m relieved that there are payment plans that make this second round of treatment affordable. I’m also glad that Invisalign teen plans allow for the free replacement of up to 6 lost trays because… teenagers! It’s bound to happen eventually.

To date, my younger daughter has been extremely diligent about wearing her trays. Invisalign Teen trays come with a blue dot that wears off gradually as the trays are worn, which can be handy for parents who want to check compliance, and as a reality check for teens. My daughter will take her trays out for photography or stage performances, to eat and to clean her teeth. She is grateful she can do this and glad that the aligners are not noticeable when she smiles. She certainly smiles a lot more since the traditional braces came off! Both girls are quick to proclaim their love of aligners vs wired braces. There really is no contest.

Presently I am in refinements so all three females in my house are undergoing treatment with Invisalign at the same time. Time to shop for more cute cases! I’ve also taken my ten year old son for a (he has a couple years to wait for treatment) and my husband is scheduled to get evaluated and treated as well. He has a similar situation to my daughter as he wore braces as a child, but his teeth reverted after a retainer fail years ago.

I never dreamed that we’d become an Invisalign family when I served on the advisory board. But I’ve been so thrilled with our treatment that it’s only natural I’d seek it out for all my kids, and my husband.

Again – I am grateful for the payment plans that make it easier for our family to do this over time. We’ve been paying for two family members in treatment at a time and managing not to break the bank.

If you are considering Invisalign for yourself or for your teenager, be sure to look for an orthodontist that specializes in Invisalign treatment. Click to learn more about & check out the infographic below on the process.

Invisalign has made such a positive difference in our family. We are all more inclined to flash a confident smile.

Here’s a reason for you to smile as well. I’m hosting a contest to win free Invisalign treatment for one lucky person. Enter below!
