Rather than purchase stationary for my son, who is camp bound for the first time, I decided to DIY some custom stationary for him.
I wasn’t worried about the stationary being “cute” so much as I was worried about getting mail from him that said more than “Hi Mom, I miss you!”
So I wrote some prompts on the back of the self addressed and stamped envelopes. I picked up the envelopes at a dollar store ages ago and the stationary paper is actually leftover from a “Paper Airplane” kit that we lost the book to ages ago. You can get similar paper inexpensively at the craft store – purchase Origami paper. I’m smiling because I did the same when I went to camp – I loved to write letters on Origami paper!
I guess I get bonus points because this stationary kit cost me little more than the price of stamps and it was cute to boot!
You can make up your own prompts but here are the ones that I used:
“I found the coolest thing on my walk today…”
“My favorite food at camp so far is…”
“I’d like to introduce you to the people in my bunk…”
“I’m going to draw you a picture of something…”
“You won’t believe what I tried today…”
“My favorite place at camp is…”
“I can’t wait to teach you how to play this camp…”
