My friend Shanna’s 11 year old son has blown his family and friends (and me!) away with this clever DIY duct tape costume that he made all by himself. It’s economical, creative and just incredibly executed.
He originally got the idea one night when he could not sleep and started thinking about ways to make clothing out of duct tape.
To construct this superhero duct tape costume he started with an old pair of jeans and an old shirt. He printed up a picture of Captain America off the internet for reference. Then he went to town constructing the costume. He’s able to take it on/off and this makes it perfect for Halloween. I always think the handmade costumes are the best!
I was surprised to learn that it only took (a little less than) four rolls of duct tape to make this whole costume.
Shanna’s son is now taking duct tape costume orders from friends and family and trying to decide what costume to make next. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with.
