Later this month I’m heading to the Caribbean. I’ll be boarding the Celebrity Silhouette. This isn’t a blogging gig, and it’s not really a personal vacation – though I’m going to take every opportunity to relax and #BASK in modern luxury under the warm Caribbean sun.
This trip is especially exciting for me – a bit of a dream come true. I am traveling as a guest lecturer for Celebrity’s Beyond the Podium Series.
If you follow my blog, or my Instagram/Twitter/Facebook feeds, you probably saw a lot of posts while I was traveling in the Mediterranean last summer.
Sharing our family vacation aboard Celebrity Reflection with friends and family, was a joy. They tagged along for the ride and it was a great one.
While cruising I found myself sitting poolside and chatting with other passengers about instagram and giving improptu Twitter lessons in the on board Art Studio, when I shared a photo of my mother’s joy at painting after a 20+ year hiatus*. Someone suggested that I should teach a class…
Social media is part of my everyday reality as a marketing professional and blogger. I love the tools of my trade, but not just for what they do for my clients.
What I love most about social media is the way it can bring friends and family together, and keep us connected.
I can’t wait to teach my fellow cruisers a little bit about sharing their trip and staying in touch via social media. We’ll cover an intro to assorted platforms & getting started, trip research and planning, digital “trip” photography and ideas for sharing, and putting together vacation albums from your social media feeds after you return. My slides will be available after the trip – I’ll keep you posted on where to find them!
I hope you’ll follow along with me as I travel & teach on this trip. Tweet at me, ask a question, or let me know if I can take a photo for you.
I’m probably going to want your feedback and suggestions too as I travel. I’m heading into new territories in the Caribbean and it’s the first time in ages that I’ll be taking an adults-only trip in decades. I’ll need advice on what to wear, what to read, and whether I should play Bingo or Slots.
Are you ready? Let’s go! Let’s set sail together…
* If you take a Celebrity Cruise, I recommend the art classes! They were fantastic.

So excited for you!
Bingo! Bingo! Bingo!!! And TOTALLY do the karaoke!
I love this and can’t wait to see all the photos, posts, and interactions that come from it! I’ll definitely be following along virtually. 😀
I do love Bingo. If I do Karaoke, I pity the other guests!
Thank you Elena. I hope we get a chance to cruise together at some point!
Hit me up with any questions you have about the ship!
So fabulous! Thrilled for you!
Have a great time. We bought most of our art work at the Celebrity art auctions on our first cruise as a married couple. It was so much fun bidding on pieces.
Estelle
Thanks Janice! I’m so looking forward to teaching people how to share and preserve memories more easily. It’s the best part of Social Media, imo. That and staying in touch with friends!
That’s so fab Estelle! Where did you go and what art did you buy? We looked at a few pieces on our cruise last summer.
Dear Momfluential,
Just found your post about sailing with Celebrity and doing lectures and workshops. How did that gig come about? Sounds so great! You doing anymore? Hope my family can be on a cruise where you’re doing a workshop in the future.
Best,
Joe
Hi Joe – it was a lucky gig. Haven’t been back out in a while but would love to hit the high seas again soon!
