Belated But Heartfelt New Years Wishes for You!

My year is off to a slow to a slow, but nevertheless wonderful start. I can hardly believe it’s been so long since I posted but the break was much needed.

I look up at the balls in the air and I have to smile. Beautiful balls, they are, see how they shimmer?

2011 was a year of many challenges, but I wouldn’t change a thing. If you aren’t tested, you never know your strength. For me personally,  it was the year of chasing dreams. The chase itself was half the reward. My dream chasing has led me to some wonderful places and introduced me to some amazing people.

2011 was the year that I didn’t take words like “no”, “you can’t do that”, and “who do you think you are” all that seriously. I just went for it. If not now, when?

So it makes perfect sense that 2011 was the year that Oprah touched me. Both in message and in person!

I won’t lie. The last 5 months have been a trying time for me. With my husband away for business, four kids in four schools, and a couple of businesses to run, I’ve never been busier. Or more tired. I’ve reached what felt like the end of my rope any number of times. Not to mention the bottom of my gas tank.

And then I saw a rainbow. Or heard from a friend. Or had pancakes picnics for dinner with the kids.

No matter how tired I was, I was always excited to wake up in the morning and check my email for good news, for a note from a friend, for a spark of creative inspiration. For possibility. Sometimes that was you, if you read this blog. Thank you!

2011 is the year I saw possibility. In the world, in myself.

I love what I am doing. I love my smart, wonderful, friends and family both on and offline, in the US and all over the world.  My life is so far from perfect. It’s often frazzled and rumpled and a mess, as anyone who looks at my instagram stream (or listens to me yell at my kids to GET IN THE CAR early every am) can clearly see. But it’s also a wish come true.

I’m hoping to embrace 2012 with this same spirit. My dreams keep spurring me on, lit like fireflies ahead of me on a summer night. I’m catching up, jar in hand.

Here is the fortune I received on New Years Eve. I’m sharing it with you! May your wishes come true in 2012.
