ProjeX came to the rescue for us during the quarantine, providing a fun activity for all ages – home arcade style.
Disclosure: I recieved a ProjeX game for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
Question: What do you do to have some fun at home during quarantine, when you are stuck in a house full of kids and adults of all ages?
Answer: You break out some old school arcade style games.
What makes ProjeX so charming is the fact that you don’t need a ton of USB cords or the wifi password to play. All you need are 3 AAA batteries and a blank wall (indoors or out) and you are up and running.
Game play is very simple. You shoot at targets. There are several different targets you can choose from. Play by yourself or set up family team tournaments.
The projector projects images randomly, and moves them so it can be a bit of a challenge to be ready to aim and shoot at them. As simple as that is, it’s really amazing how well it works to detect your aim and reward you for hitting targets. The minute we set it up my husband and I looked at each other and laughed because we both thought the same thing…. We would have been AMAZED by this toy when we were kids. And we kind of still are kids at heart.
We’ve had so many hit or miss attempts at game night with our crew. We’re spread out in age from 12 to 23 (kids) and us grumpy adults don’t always like the same stuff that the kids are into. But this is a fun game we can all enjoy. In fact it reminds us all of games from our favorite theme parks. This would be fun with younger kids and grandparents too. Pretty much anyone can play and enjoy this game.
Thank goodness for family fun opps that don’t require a brain trust to set up, and that we can all cut loose and play together. Nowadays we need more of that.
I can see us playing with this toy for years to come. Nostalgic, simple, portable and fun for all!
