camerastraps

My camera is one of my most prized possessions. I love it dearly and have been making more of an effort to wear it everywhere. What better way to use it often, become more familiar and more skilled?  It’s a handy practice as I also don’t want to miss out on all of those moments with my kids – you know the ones, where you wish you’d had your camera because the light is just right or your 6 year old pulls his cookie monster socks practically up to his armpits

Meanwhile, I have also got a thing about accessorizing.  Shoes, bags, hats, glasses, scarves…  Camera straps!

Do attractive camera straps make me take better pictures? No. But they do make me more likely to carry my (well accessorized) camera everywhere.

I’m in love with cool camera straps and one is definitely not enough. Here’s a few of the ones that I’ve obsessed over (and a few that I’ve bought) recently.

This leather strap from MesaDreams on Etsy is customized for the wearer. It’s delightfully retro, boho just the one I’d pick for a weekend in the country taking pictures of fall leaves. Time to book such a trip.

chevron strap by phat straps

This cool grey chevron and minky lined strap from Phat Straps looks incredibly comfortable. I would love to wear this on those days that I am camera toting for a long time. Phat straps can be ordered with a quick release system, making change outs fast and easy.

leather chevron camera strap

If you love leather with your chevron patters then check out these hand painted leather camera straps from Exsect. Bonus points for the ombre effect. Totally want one of these!

red leather camera strap

This simple, sexy and soft looking red leather camera strap from Awesome Women  is the next item on my hit list. I love it for holiday parties and school events. It looks like it would go with everything, doesn’t it?

custom leather camera strap

Stamp your mark (or a fave phrase) on this gorgeous handcrafted leather camera strap by Viveo. Everything is custom and personalized for you, including the colors of this strap. I suffer from indecision or I would have already ordered one ages ago.

rainbow camera strap from IMO

This rainbow camera strap from the IMO shop just makes me smile. It’s so colorful, friendly and happy (and yes it reminds me of Mork’s suspenders – bittersweet). I think it would be a great camera strap for a visit to my kid’s classroom or to wear to a colorful birthday party.

custom harness leather camera strap

This handcrafted vegetable tanned leather camera strap by HMCurriers  is so yummy looking. It would go great with my Frye boots. Hello Fall!

hemp camera strap

When I was a kid my brothers played guitar and my house often felt like band boy HQ. I got used to seeing dudes with guitars slung across their backs. The guitar straps were boho fabulous, brocade and woven deals. This hemp camera strap from Feedback straps makes me nostagic.

upcycled camera straps

Speaking of nostalgia… This vintage automotive fabric camera strap by Couch is made out of vintage 1985 VW Golf upholstery fabric.  I would have a hard time choosing just one of the amazing upcycled straps from this company but I know when I’d break one out. Road trip! Check out the seatbelt straps and assorted automotive fabric and vinyl creations in their Etsy shop.

embroidered camera strap from Guatemala

This Guatemalan embroidered camera strap from TildeStraps is my latest investment. I love the detail and craftsmanship and it certainly makes my camera (and me) look festive! There are a ton of designs suitable for both women and men in their shop.
