Who says you cannot experience seasons in Southern California? It’s time to break out the winter coats, scarfs, and gloves. No need to drive to the mountains though. OC residents can experience real snow even closer to home at Winter Fest, taking place this year at the OC Fairgrounds.
Let the east coast keep their blizzards. We Californians know that snow and sunshine are a perfect mix. Winter Fest is coming back to Orange County, thanks to popular demand.
Just like that, we have a new family tradition.
The frosty holiday celebration will be in town for 17 fun-filled days beginning December 16th through January 1st 2017.
Thank you Gigasavvy for inviting me to Winter Fest and sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
During winter break my family loves to spend quality time, chilling out together. We sit by the fireplace, sip hot cocoa, and play games together. Even if it means cranking up the AC to make it feel like “real” winter, sometimes!
This chill time has all become our family tradition, along with tamale making, posadas, and baking. Winter is our favorite time of the year.
We also look forward to attending local holiday activities, like tree lightings and light parades and possibly most of all, Winter Fest. Winter Fest recreates the magic of winter with holiday food, drinks and winter experiences.
The celebration is conveniently located at the OC Fairgrounds in central Orange County, and has tons of traditional cold weather activities for my entire family – truly something for everyone.
Last year, my teen daughters really enjoyed ice skating. This reminds me when they used to dress up like ice princesses and pretend to twirl on the ice. Everyone gets to be Anna and Elsa at Winter Fest.
We all love the petting zoo, and craft making in Santa’s Workshop.
My son’s favorite last year was the snowfall. He yelled in excitement, “It’s snowing mama!” and held out his hands to catch the snowflakes.
Families and friends can also enjoy ice tubing, a two million light walk-through show, snow play with fresh snow blown in daily, a nightly Christmas tree lighting ceremony, carnival rides, festive entertainment, seasonal eateries, visits with Santa and so much more!
