I wish I had come up with this one all on my own. But credit must be given where credit is due and in this case, it is due to Family Fun Magazine. You can download the basic bike/kid wash plans here. I should note we left out the gate (which is in the plans).
We were inspired by the rainbow curtain addition that was pictured on OhDeeDoh and so we rushed out to Ikea to purchase one for our bike wash. Additionally we decorated the boring white PVC with some colorful duct tape and went to the dollar store and got a bunch of extra pool noodles that we used to make a sort of bumpy curtain at the other end. We didn’t skimp on the sponges either, thanks to an ample supply at the dollar store.
This whole project was about $65 and was incredibly fast and easy to build. We didn’t have to glue anything. My husband brought the plans with him and cut the PVC right at Home Depot, using their tools, so it was all about assembling and decorating once he got home and drilled a few holes.
Have a splashy summer y’all!

How cute! What a fun idea.
Awesome idea! Just posted this on our storkbrokers facebook fanpage to share with the moms there. The hubby and I are attempting to build this later this afternoon 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
I’ve been wanting to make this for years! I have the page ripped out of the FF magazine, in a binder, all ready to go. Way to make it, mama!
this is so clever and adorable!
I was looking for the instructions for this kid drive thru bike wash. If still available, may I have a copy of it.
Thank you.
I couldn’t find the plans…is it something you still have… I would love to build this 🙂
The plans were available through Family Fun magazine! We made a few modifications but it’s pretty basic 🙂
Very colorful and nice idea.
