Thank you Sony Pictures Entertainment and Columbia Pictures for the sneak peek at the Sex Tape Movie. All opinions are my own.
This is awkward….
Sometimes we put ourselves in situations that can quickly spiral out of our control, particularly in the internet age. That’s the premise behind the Sex Tape movie.
Certainly, many couples have considered spicing things up by making a private sex tape. But what if someone found it? Is worth the risk?
Prior to the release of the hysterical new comedy Sex Tape, I had the opportunity to preview the film and interview director Jake Kasdan, and actors Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel.
The film struck a (funny) chord as the main character, played by Cameron Diaz, is a blogger. Being a blogger often involves taking risks and revealing secrets. It’s a delicate balancing that many bloggers are familiar with. Countless bloggers have weathered public scandals and the fallout when their private lives have become public fodder.
In the film, Cameron Diaz (Annie) tries to spice up her marriage with her on screen husband Jason Segel (Jay). The married couple wake up to discover that the Sex Tape they made the evening before may be in the hands of friends and family, leading to a frantic search for its whereabouts.
Director Kasdan said,
“ Working with Cameron and Jason on Bad Teacher was one of the great experiences I’ve ever had. And I really wanted to find something else for them – I knew that they were hilarious together and I knew that, in these very different roles, we would pick up where we left off on the first movie and do something completely new. I had a strong hunch there would be something kind of spectacular between them, in these characters, and they surpassed all of my hopes and expectations. As actors, they are both hugely supportive teammates that really commit, and as comedians, they’re generous with each other and eager to set each other up to get a laugh. They pitch jokes for each other… and then of course, they’re both just hugely appealing, on their own and together.”
Jason Segel who collaborated on the screenplay, talked about his experience in creating films:
“There a really cool outcome of thinking of an idea in the shower and then a few years later sitting in a movie theater and seeing it. It’s one of the coolest feelings I have had ever had.”
Cameron Diaz talked about her outlook on life and said:
“Life is just a bunch of lessons, and the failure is not taking the lesson and utilizing it, and trying to making to make a better choice next time.”
Sex Tape is now playing in theaters. Be prepared to take a spicy comedy ride!
