If there was ever a better time to visit the spa, I’m not aware of it.
The shopping, the office parties, the teacher gifts, the kid ones. The gift wrapping. Seriously, where do all my rolls of tape disappear off to? I’m down to glue dots and packing tape here.
It’s not even half way through the month and I’m already more than half spent. I hit the ground running on Black Friday and I haven’t stopped since. I was starting to wonder what would be left of me come the New Year.
Until this past Sunday when I spent a blissful four hours having lunch and chilling out at the Newport Marriott’s Pure Blu Spa
It’s right across the street from Fashion Island, which is presently bustling with anxious shoppers.
Inside the Marriott, calm reigns.
Lunch at Sam and Harry’s. A massage at Pure Blu. A blowout at the salon. Four hours of me time. It’s enough to make me feel civilized again.
I wish the same for all of you. Gift yourself with some calm. It’s closer (and less expensive) than you think.
Now through January 6, 2012 at Pure Blu $95 will get you a 50 minute custom massage or facial, as well as full access to the spa’s exceptional eucalyptus steam room, dry sauna, saltwater whirlpool jacuzzi, cold water foot plunge, private outdoor swimming pool with lounge chairs and cabanas, and state of the art fitness center.
Guess what else? Valet parking is included. After jockeying for a spot at various malls all over the southland, that is music to my ears.
Why not make a day of it? Stop for a meal as well.
Sam and Harry’s innovative new Chef Leo has been putting together some interesting dishes for hotel guests and locals to enjoy. Enjoy their sushi menu at the lounge and Sunday Brunch in the restaurant. If you’re looking for a place to bring the family to dine on New Years Eve or Christmas Day have a look at their mouthwatering price fixe menu.
Disclosure: I was treated to a spa day at Pure Blu and lunch at Sam and Harry’s for the purpose of writing about the experience. I took a lot of notes and photos that came out badly, hence the very zen looking mama (not me!) pictured above. I’m hoping to head back to the spa on my own dime before the New Year. This time I’ll book the sitter for a little longer and take more time to linger. We’re also thinking about taking the whole family to one of the holiday meals. This is possibly the best part about being a blogger – getting to find out about places to go, things to do, and restaurants to try that you weren’t already aware of.
