Forgive me for bragging, but my carry on bag is more fun than your carry on bag. Unless, of course, you have Micro Scooter luggage too.
I’ve owned bags you could sit on (handy when stranded in crowded airports) and my kids have owned bags they could sit and scoot along on – a good gimmick when you’re dealing with tired toddler travelers. But until now I’ve never had a bag that doubled as a sweet ride
.
Yes, you heard me correctly. My suitcase is also a scooter. Forget about the people mover. When it comes to those long corridors in the airport – the kind that seem to stretch on into eternity when you are late for the next leg of your flight – I’m now on a roll.
Even after a long day of flying, my family and I were pretty psyched to show off our carry-on as we waited by the carousels for our slower moving luggage.
Owning a scooter bag is sure to incite a great deal of wonder and envy – so don’t even consider it if you cannot take the attention. I recently rode my bag through the Las Vegas convention center during NMX/NABShow, and grown men actually stopped oohing and ahhing over drones, to ooh and ahh over my bag.
Out on the street I got stopped by a couple of police officers who wanted to know more about my fun carry on. They needed to know the brand.
There’s a bit of a learning curve when riding this scooter bag – it steers with a lean. The handlebars are fixed and this does take a little getting used to if you are used to traditional scooters. It’s actually a very safe and stable way to steer and ride however. The scooter draws on the same tech that Micro uses for their starter scooters for kids.
It’s also a very functional bag for short trips. There’s room for a laptop and about two days worth of clothes. The laptop compartment sits on top, so there is easy access to get your computer out when you want to work on the plane. The bag fits easily in overhead compartments and is not too heavy, even with the extra hardware for the scooter.
You probably won’t tear it up and turn it up doing tricks on this thing but you will comfortably make it to your flight on time, with a trail of jealous admirers, and get a bit of a workout in the process.
Here’s the official product demo. I’m a little bit jealous of the lady who can drink coffee while scooting. I’m not quite there yet, but… almost. I’ve never been the most coordinated, but remarkably, I think I’ve got this.
Ahh! I love it!
