Pink is my favorite color in October….
At some point in our lives we have known someone who has been affected by breast cancer. In some cases it is someone we cherish and love dearly. It can be our mother, wife, sister, friend, or daughter.
Mammograms are so crucial in the early detection of breast cancer. Early treatment can prevent the spread of this terrible disease. In some cases women cannot afford the costs of screenings or treatment.
Make A Difference!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Now through October 31st, The Valiant Women Support Group of Mission Hospital will host “The Pink Breast Health Wall of Honor”. The wall is currently displayed at the Shops At Mission Viejo in the Center of the court. It is located in the lower level of the mall. Shoppers have the opportunity to donate $25 dollars to place a hand-written card on the wall display in honor of a love one who has had breast cancer. The donations will go towards the cost of mammogram or diagnostic procedure for someone that cannot afford this expense.
All proceeds will benefit Mission Breast Health Services. The Mission Breast Health Services provides preventive care and offers a breast health program to diagnose and treat breast cancer. Last year the event raised net proceeds of nearly $50,000! They were also able to provide over 13,000 screening mammograms to under or uninsured women in our community.
