I have a very difficult time putting my kids down because I just want to snuggle them all day! But I’m also a stubborn mom who is determined to be Super Mom. Note: It’s very difficult to be SuperMom while stuck holding a baby in one arm all day long.
Thankfully I learned very early on in my adventures as a mom, that baby wearing is the way to go and really the only way to get anything done.
Baby wearing worked well for us and my now 12 and 10 1/2 year old boys have grown in to independent yet compassionate young men. I couldn’t be more proud of who they are growing up to become.
I get comments daily from acquaintances and friends about how calm & relaxed my newborn is. I smile warmly and tell them I feel very thankful for having all three of my children come out being so easy going. I credit the calm environment and parenting style that includes baby wearing.
Whether I’m at the grocery store, mall shopping, a party or simply cooking dinner – you’ll most likely see me baby wearing my daughter!
BABYBJÖRN has always been a staple in my baby wearing toolkit. I’ve loved the brand since I had my first son, 12 years ago. His first outing as a baby was to the beach as a one week old snuggled in his BABYBJÖRN. I was thrilled to test & write a BABYBJÖRN One review, with the help of my new daughter.
At first I was a little intimidated at how much it has evolved since the one I had years ago, but now that I’ve been using it for a couple weeks, I’m in love.
I can’t imagine grocery shopping, cooking or vacuuming without it! Yes, you read that right, I VACUUM with her in the BABYBJÖRN One. I started it when she was about a week old and to this day she will still sleep while I vacuum.
Just last week I ventured to the mall with my daughter in the carrier. I left the stroller in the car and simply loaded her up in the BABYBJÖRN. It was easier to navigate the narrow aisles at stores without a stroller and I was able to get all my shopping done much faster.
The black mesh material is genius because here in Southern California the last few weeks have been very hot, so baby wearing can get sweaty. I was at the mall in 100 degree heat and unfortunately half my stops were in the outdoor portion of our mall, but we were no more sweaty than a regular walk outside in the heat without baby wearing.
I keep the BABYBJÖRN One with me in the diaper bag for those times when a stroller just isn’t convenient, and was floored when I read that it is designed for easy folding so that it tucks in. GENIUS! 
Quick Thoughts:
- Easily holds newborns (unless you have a super small baby), mine was 8lbs and fit comfortably and it complies with the recommendations to avoid hip dysplasia by the National Hip Dysplasia Institute
- Foot rest for newborns.
- Easily adapts (by unzipping) once the baby grows and is past the newborn stage, allowing for comfort
- Comfortable and sturdy. Once baby is in you don’t have any concerns about them wiggling out.
- Easily switches to backpack mode or hip mode
- Baby wearing using the BABYBJÖRN One frees up your hands for cooking dinner and doing chores while still snuggling a sleeping or awake baby.
- Allows for facing baby forward as they develop the muscle control for it to be safe.
- Well worth the investment to gain back some sanity when you are a mother of a newborn!
