The more things change, the more they stay the same…  Do you know who said that?

Alphonse Karr – in 1849.

He’s still right.

I’ve been hearing so much about THIS election and how things are different that I went looking to the internet for some perspective. Yes the issues are large. Yes it’s a scary world we live in. But is it really all that different than it was 10, 20, 100 or a few thousand years ago?

I found the following words of wisdom and decided to serve them up for your enjoyment as well.

1. Stupidity is not a handicap when it comes to politics!

2. Spin is Nothing New

3. Friendship matters more

4. Few things in life are black and white

5. You have to be in it to win it

6. You can’t believe everything you hear (or read on the internet)

7. If you’re looking for trouble, you won’t have a hard time finding it

8. Common sense matters

9.  Say what you mean, mean what you say

10. Opinions change

Why is Mark Twain dead? Or Plato for that matter. It just seems like such a cheat. Wonderful post Ciaran

Here’s my favorite: Republicans think Democrats are wrong, Democrats think Republicans are evil 😉

Wow! Did this bring back memories. My dad could recite political quotes quicker than his own address! I hadn’t thought about that in years. Thanks!

Very cool. I think the Gertrude Stein is kind of amazing since the internet wasn’t invented when she was around. What would she have made of twitter?
