My family always looks forward to watching “The Goldbergs” on ABC Wednesday nights. It’s one of our favorite shows!
Last week I visited the set of the hit show at Sony Studios. I also had a chance to speak to Adam Goldberg, the creator of this “totally radical” TV show .
This week’s episode will pay a tribute to one of my favorite musicals, “The Little Shop of Horrors!”

Sean Giambrone was our tour guide for the day at Sony Studios. He was charming and very funny!
” The Goldberg’s” set tour put me back in a time machine. The furniture on set was totally 80’s awesome!
Before there were parenting blogs, trophies for showing up, and peanut allergies, there was a simpler time called the ’80s. For geeky 11-year old Adam these were his wonder years and he faced them armed with a video camera to capture all the crazy. The Goldbergs are a loving family like any other, just with a lot more yelling.
Whoa major flashback! At some point everyone I know owned furniture very similar to this…
Creator Adam Goldberg talked about how his home life inspired him to make the show. He also talked about the dynamics of his family and how he wanted every detail to look authentic on set.
” I gave them pictures of my mom’s hair.” He said it cost thousands of dollars to replicate it.
Who is your favorite 80’s icon? So many things in this room look familiar…
When I was a kid, I owned a creepy clown like this one…
Adam Goldberg said the props used in the show are valuable collectables. He wanted the decor and props to be true to the era.
I had a blast on set with ” The Goldbergs! at Sony” Check it out Wednesday nights at 8/7c.
