I don’t have to go far to get my Halloween vibe going. When the fall holiday season hits, I know, I can do one stop shopping and get all my Halloween decor (plus costumes and treat baking supplies) in one fell swoop at TJ Maxx , Marshalls or HomeGoods.
That’s good news for me this year as a hectic work and travel schedule have left me with not nearly enough time to decorate and prep costumes.
Thanks to TJ Maxx & Marshalls for sending a gift card to help with our holiday decor.
Costumes and decor are just the tip of the gruesome iceberg. Halloween time is also “Boo-ing” time. Come October I know our house is going to get “boo-ed” sooner or later. This year it was sooner!
Booing is a fun neighborhood Halloween tradition where we make care packages for one another, then place on a doorstep and ring the bell, run and hide. There’s a note and rules for the Boo tradition and you can see last year’s boo kit and printable here as well as a Zombie themed boo kit and printable we did.
All the supplies for these fun kits came from TJ Maxx and HomeGoods.
This year I hit the stores again and once more, I was a bit overwhelmed (in a good way) by the selection. I swear it just gets better every year. The things that are in store now are high quality and I think of the pieces I pick up each season as a bit of an investment. My collection grows each year and I am happy to break it out again. It’s much nicer than disposable stuff.
Some of the items I considered adding to the collection this year included ghostly snow globes, wizard scultptures, elixir bottles, tombstones and a variety of skulls. My favorite were these ceramic skulls with a cosmic looking glaze on them.
There are also costumes at TJ Maxx. There’s the usual witches and princesses and pirates but also some unusual things like stuffed animal head masks. I considered getting the fox one for my son Fox. It’s so realistic looking and the jaw moves when you talk.
It’s not too late to bust out the decor and pick up some costumes! Head to TJ Maxx and HomeGoods. They’ve got everything you need for that and some great stuff for a holiday boo tradition too! Start one on your block!
