Do you have any personal care items on your holiday wish list this year? Which gifts would you be thrilled to get and which ones would you send packing?
Personal electronics and self care gifts can be tricky. There are some gifts that you might want to skip. For example: it’s highly unlikely that anyone will unwrap a nosehair clipper and exclaim joyously that it’s a dream come true. Don’t let that scare you away from a gift that is both personal and luxurious. Here are some picks for personal & thoughtful pampering gifts that will get you major brownie (elf?) points. We’ve rounded up a few of our favorites that are sure to deliver both comfort AND joy this holiday season.
For Him: The Philips Norelco 9000 personal shaver delivers a precision, irritation free , clean shave. With 8 direction blades that contour to every curve, and adjustable settings, this shaver takes him from scruffy to polished in minutes and is a pleasure to use. The shaver holds a charge for several shaves and comes with a carrying case and cleaner. My product tester* was an electric shave doubter but he’s now a convert. No more blind shaving in the shower, or nicks and cuts with this great grooming tool. *Thanks to Philips Norelco for sending product for review. All opinions are my own.
For the family footsoldier: This Shiastsu Foot Massager with heat is a sole saver. After a long day on your feet on the job or in the kitchen, this massager will take the ache away. Just look at the line to test these at any Brookstone store during holiday season. Tired shopper’s feet don’t lie. There are multiple programs and settings, to adjust to your preference, plus your massager will never get tired of rubbing your feet and pick up the remote to channel surf. Sharing a massager test unit with strangers at the mall may be an act of desperation. Owning your own is pure bliss.
For The Stress Case: This space age-y eye and head massager from Pure Therapy may look off putting but that’s ok. Sometimes you really need to tell the world to leave you alone and go to your happy place where accupressure, vibration massage, and heat conspire to take your tension headaches and cares away. Comes with a remote control.
For the multitasker: This Laila Ali Ionic Salon Dryer frees up your hands and your time. I have to admit that I hate blow drying my hair. Every time I go to the salon, I wish I had an old fashioned dryer so I could throw my hair up in some jumbo rollers and free myself from the manual labor. If I had one of these I could do my email AND my hair at the same time! Someone please gift me one of these so I can do my work and my hair and ignore my kids in my cone of silence (or close enough) for 20 minutes or so?
