I have two teenaged daughters, both who have done battle with acne, and both who have skin that is sensitive (in different ways) and prone to outbreaks of one type or another. My older daughter first discovered Liquid Oxygen at Getting Gorgeous in New York.
We are frequent flyers at the dermatologist’s office. I think we’ve tried every facewash and anti acne scrub, ointment, gel, patch etc on the market at one time or another. The cabinet under their sink is a graveyard of pharmacy, prescription and mail order product rejects.
It’s not that nothing has worked. I think they look gorgeous! They’ve experienced significant success and relief from outbreaks via a combination of products and prescriptions but the success comes at a cost – both financial and physical. Many of the preparations sold over the counter are harsh on sensitive skin, which both my daughters are blessed with. We’ve gone through a lot of trial and error.
Recently my older daughter literally burned her skin, treating an outbreak with a liberal application of benzoyl peroxide overnight. She peeled for days and the area where she applied the lotion was discolored afterwards. Hardly an ideal result for a little pimple. My younger daughter’s nemesis is the sun.
If you are fair you can forget about going out in the sun after you’ve treated with harsh products – even with sunscreen. My younger daughter burns the instant chemically treated skin comes in contact with unfiltered daylight.
Even though they have different skin types and issues – both my girls were excited to try out Liquid Oxygen when our samples arrived. They read that this was a kinder gentler way to clean your skin and prevent and treat outbreaks. At the moment, they are both in a “maintenance” mode – trying to prevent outbreaks before they happen and keep their skin clear. The fact that one skincare formula would work for both of them, seemed almost too good to be true.
They snatched up the samples (My samples! Hey! Wait a minute!) and scurried back to their girl world. I asked for the samples back. They said no.
The verdict is in. My daughters are in love with Liquid Oxygen. It delivers what other preparations have not. Clear skin and fewer breakouts without the burning, bleaching effects of other common harsher preparations. You can read more about how Liquid Oxygen works here.
In the meantime, I’m going to have to order my own if I’ve any hope of trying it out. They just won’t share. They like it so much, I’ve told our dermatologist about Liquid Oxygen and recommended she check it out for her other patients. You can order product on the Liquid Oxygen site as well.
