My bank card is getting a workout today. My teens are home and bored and it is hot and well… they heard there was a cool new place to get shaved ice/ice cream treats.
Snow Station it is. Off they go with instructions to report back to me with photos.
Note: This post is not sponsored or subsidized in any way. In fact I had to pay my kids off so I could get some peace and quiet around here!
It’s important to note that Snow Station in Mission Viejo is right across Marguerite Parkway from Chipotle. Teenagers love Chipotle. It’s easy to drop $40 on burritos and to still here “I’m hungry” two hours later. This makes it a very risky proposition to hand over my bank card to hungry teens headed in that general direction.
Content is king and I know I’m not the only one curious about Snow Station. I decided to make them work for it. So I sent the girls were off to Snow Station with the assignment of (literally) getting the scoop, and they reported back with the following:
It wasn’t exactly what they expected. But it was good.
I think they were expecting something similar to Snow on the Go – which is a more traditional shaved ice place that pairs the ices with fresh creamy custard, or Rita’s (same idea, fewer ice flavors, better custard) but Snow Station is in a vegan, dairy free class of its own. Snows Station has a signature soy-based snow-textured frozen confection with a cotton candy melting sensation. Light, puffy and cold. Toppings include fruit, granola and mochi. You can view the Snow Station menu here.
I think they will be back. Me – not so much. I’ve got soy issues, and don’t want to risk an allergic reaction. But I’m happy that people with other allergies (dairy in particular) have a place to get delicious frozen treats. What’s summer without treats?!
