My chiquitos can hardly wait for Christmas to arrive. The anticipation for them is unbearable. Advent Calendars are a great way to give your kids treats during the holiday season and keep them from driving mom crazy.
For this year’s countdown I decided to make my kids a Keurig K-Cup DIY Advent Calendar in the shape of an adorable Snowman. I have created this fun DIY for you to make at home. Its totally easy and economical to make.
Materials I used
- Burlap Canvas (you can also use a poster board)
- White used Keurig K-Cups
- Coffee Beans
- Black Construction (for snowman’s hat)
- Adhesive & glue
- Orange Paint
- Snowflakes for embellishments
Empty out coffee or tea grains out of K-Cups. Wash out the cups with soap and water.
Number your K-Cups with Sharpie or numeric stickers (1-25 to represent 25 day Christmas countdown)
I painted 1 K-Cup (the nose) orange for December 25th cup (Christmas Day)
I added Circular adhesive to the corners of the cups. You can also use glue and or velcro.
Fill the K-Cups with miniature treats! I used candy, miniature bubbles, stickers, and erasers for ours.
I wanted December 25th to be special. I added a little extra something for Christmas Day (the Snowman’s nose).
Lay out your K-Cups on your canvas or board and form a snowman (two circles).
I used black construction to cut out a hat and two black round eyes.
I added coffee beans to shape the mouth.
I embellished the snowman with pre-cut -purchased snowflakes (You can also add stickers and holiday shapes). I used adhesive and glued down my selected holiday shapes.
You are done! Let the countdown begin December 1st until December 25th Christmas Day!
Andrew can hardly wait to see what surprises are in the Advent Calendar .
This kid’s face totally lit up at the sight of shinny gold chocolate coins!
