I adored Stride Rite when my kids were babies. All of my kids got their first pairs of shoes at a Stride Rite store.
Now that I have older kids, I love Stride Rite even more.
There’s an awkward kid shoe phase somewhere between size 3 kid and size whatever is smallest, adult. My youngest son isn’t there yet. He’s still happily hopping about the land of light up sneakers. But my 9 year old son has landed squarely in that no-man’s land of shoes in the past year.
He’s 9, he’s certainly not a man. But he has sized out of the kid section of many shoe sellers. I’m frequently frustrated when shopping with him for shoes as I bounce between the kids and adult sections and no-one, but no-one seems to have a single decent shoe in his size. “You can try ordering online, Ma’am,” they say.
What’s up with that? I never guessed that shoe shopping for boys could be so difficult!
So now more than ever, it’s back to Stride Rite, where I know we can find a great selection of quality, age appropriate and comfortable shoes for my sons. How about those Star Wars sneakers? They’re really something aren’t they?
Stride Rite makes some great shoes and we are always happy with the Sperry and Saucony brand shoes that they carry as well.
If you have boys, I recommend the spring line up!
Here are the shoes we tried, all winners!
