Disclosure: I have a client relationship with Light Up Links. This post reflects my own opinions and party decor obsession
The minute I saw my kid’s Light Up Links, I knew I was going to have to borrow them for my kids New Years Eve Party. They are just perfect for decorating with if you are going for”glow themed” party decor.
They are insanely fun to build with and so I enlisted my kid’s help in creating a few things to light up our New Year’s Eve celebration. We’ll be hosting at least a dozen people and many many kids. Our New Year’s Eve parties are alway fun and festive and I can’t wait to bust out our very own New Years Eve Drop Ball this year.
Made out of one Light up Links kit and some Silver Tinsel garland (balled up in the middle) plus a giant Pixie stick for the pole, this glowing centerpiece is perfect for the countdown. We used a couple of Rainbow Loom bands to secure the ball to the Pixie Stick.
We also created “Ball Drop” themed decor for our cupcakes, embellishing single light pods and connectors with silver pipe cleaners (see photo above). If you don’t want to stick your connector sticks in a cupcake and have to wash after, disposable paper cake pop sticks also work with the silicon connectors & light pods.
Finally we created some glowing noisemakers with some neon colored plastic shotglasses, pony beads, a single light up links light pod and some silver duck tape. Here’s a video of the project.
