Ancient Craft Meets Augmented Reality

I’m in love with these tiled QR codes¬†, formed from the cobblestone tiles Rio is famous for. They are being used at 30 tourist locations in Rio. It strikes me as a perfect application of augmented reality – offering visitors up maps, and info, without significantly disturbing the art and culture of the site. It’s just cool. I wonder what other cities these will turn up in next? Paris? Jerusalem? Are you scanning?
