Getaway Without the Kids

Have you seen this post about Two Bunch Palms by Lee Vandeman of Moms Without Blogs?

Okay, I feel sort of guilty even admitting it. Because I love my kids. I adore my kids. Can’t get enough of them. Love to travel with them. But. THIS, this is the sort of vacation I’d really love to take right now. If only some helpful inlaws, siblings, etc would descend from the sky (or the east coast, or seven miles away…) and utter the phrase we’ve been waiting to hear “Why don’t you two get away on your own…”

Over the last 12 yrs my husband and I have managed to spend only 4 nights truly alone on vacation, sans kids.  Four. In 12 years. That’s one night every three yrs, per child. This is not a great track record. I’m not proud to admit this. Do not follow my example. While I have a million excuses: Time, money, work… (have I mentioned I have four kids? Sometimes feels like an entire tribe) the awful truth is that I might need to try a little harder. For all of us.

The quiet, solitude of the location sounds alot like heaven.  Then again I’d be happy with a room to sleep in, clean sheets, room service and Lodgenet movies for at least 24 hrs at this point. Any old Courtyard by Marriott might do for a night or so. But after that?  I’m checking in to Two Bunch Palms.
