A Wake Up Story You Have to Watch!

This is a video that cannot be missed. It’s a simple story ( it gets a little scary in the middle, I have to warn you!) but one with a hopeful ending. I’m so proud of Healthy Child, Healthy World for making this excellent video, that truly illustrates a daunting problem in simple graphic fashion. We don’t always “see” how all the chemicals we’re creating and consuming end up coursing through the veins of our children, even before they are born.  This is truly a Wake Up Story and a call to action. But it’s not all doom and gloom. Small changes add up. I’m always impressed by all the work that Healthy Child, Healthy World does to make this world a better place for our kids. One little thing at a time. Their dedication and their smarts are inspirational. They share insight and provide education without judgment or fear mongering.

Since first learning about Healthy Child three years ago I’ve been inspired to make so many changes in my life. Some big and some small. Changes that include:

* Using natural cleaning products in our home

* Discontinuing our pesticide “service”

* Switching to organic mattresses for our children

* Buying more organic, locally grown produce and growing our own

* Making do with one car for almost a year

* Choosing our children’s bedding, tableware, furniture, toys and clothing with a more critical eye

* Adhering to a “zero waste”/water beverage only  kid’s lunch program, eliminating waste from disposable packaging.

I believe that these small changes have added up to a lot! My son has fewer asthma attacks,  we all eat healthier, we have less “plastic” in our lives to dispose of and guess what… our house is still clean, fresh smelling and bug free (most of the time! I do have two bug loving sons!). Perhaps you will be inspired to make a small change in your life, tell a friend. That is how big things happen.
