Miraclebody Jeans – Do they Fit?

This past Tuesday I took a denim leap of faith. I invited a dozen blogger friends over for a jeans party to try on the new Miraclebody Jeans from the makers of Miraclesuit swimsuits. The subject of jeans shopping is an emotional one (similar to swimsuit shopping!) and I’ve learned that almost everyone, no matter what their size or shape, struggles to get a decent fit. Denim, though beloved, is not so easy to drape on the human form: it’s not stretchy, it can be stiff and unforgiving to curves.  Miraclebody jeans promised to change all that and make us look 10 lbs thinner to boot.

It’s a lot to ask from a pair of jeans. Prior to trying them on, I asked everyone about their biggest denim “challenges”. Despite our extremely different sizes and shapes we all agreed that there were three things that were the most difficult when shopping for the perfect fit:

  • The inseam length
  • The Gap in the back
  • The Lo rise to muffin top ratio

And then off to try on!

The results were almost comical. Although not everyone liked every style of jean sampled everyone loved at least one style. Some found the midrise too high on the bootlegs, but then fell madly in love with the jeans leggings aka “jeggings”.  In fact everyone was so enthused  (especially about the awesome booty effect) that making the video was a little hard. It was a little infomercial for a minute there! But what can I say… people get emotional about their jeans. I know I do.

I think the secret to the Miraclebody jeans is that they have 2x more lycra in them than other jeans with lycra and the fabric is so nicely lightweight and stretchy that they just fit comfortably and hug curves. The company has already tacked the minefield of swimsuits that slim so for them, jeans must be a walk in the park.

I would definitely recommend these jeans to a friend. I’d say to try on a few pairs. You will find one that fits, and fits you well. When you do, you will fall in love with jeans all over again.
