Have a kid in the California School system? I do. And I have to tell you, as funny as this video is… it’s pretty damn close the truth. California schools are falling apart. Our district is about to go on strike – next week from the sounds of it. I had coffee this morning with Debbie Lavdas of Peace Love and Momminess who contributed the following video about the state of affairs in the Capo school district on Orange County Moms Blog.
Currently my kids are in a charter school and as we get funding directly from the state, not the district, our kids’ school is not part of the planned strike. But we are still impacted. Last year we had to scrub toilets and clean classrooms after we made the tough choice to fire the janitor instead of a teacher.
What will happen next year?
