In his recent book, “An Unsolicited Gift”, UK Psych Dennis Friedman offers insight into why we do what we do. Some of that insight is that boys who have nannies prior to age 1, become womanizers.
It’s not just the boys who suffer. Girls with nannies are likely to turn to drugs and alcohol and sex to fill their “vacuum of need”.
Unsurprisingly, the author of this book is 85, has no data to support these claims and is widely contested by others in the field. However, after hearing this story on NPR and reading about Dr Friedman in the Telegraph I came to the following conclusion. Dr Friedman may not be a whiz at hiring nannies, but he sure is ace at hiring PR.
Lest you feel bullied as a working mom, rest assured that Dr. F has some awesome theories about dentists and their need to silence others stemming from childhood traumas as well. Any mom dentists out there?
In other news, Jesse James has just contacted Friedman’s publicist regarding the lasting trauma done by his childhood Nazi Nanny…. oh wait. Made that up!
